However this week's project is an easy gift bag made using Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper. tied with the gorgeous Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon.
For this bag you'll need a piece of DSP which measures 11" x 4" - so you'll get 3 from one 12x12 sheet.
On the LONG side, score at 3-1/2", 5-1/4", 8-3/4" and 10-1/2" (3.5", 5.25", 8.75" and 10.5").
Keeping the DSP in this position, then make to small indents at 4-3/8" and 9-5/8" - these are markers for adding your diagonal side score lines later.
Turn your paper ANTI-CLOCKWISE to the SHORT side and score at 2-3/4" (that's 2.75").
Using a ruler (I use a stainless steel one to make sure there are no scratches or dents along the sides), score diagonal lines from the tick marks to the bottom corners of each section, just to the bottom of the vertical score lines where they meet your bottom score line.
Then fold and burnish all vertical and horizontal score lines, leaving the diagonal ones for now
Cut up the score lines in the narrow section of what will be the bottom of your bag. Remove the small rectangular piece and notch the narrow side panel slightly at each end
Then fold and burnish your diagonal scores in the OPPOSITE direction so that they fold inwards
Add your chosen (strong) adhesive to the side panel and stick the edges of your bag together
Determine which is the back of your bag - where the rough edge of the side join is and stick down the base, putting the side flaps in first (add a bit of adhesive to these if you wish, for extra strength), then the back panel, then the front panel. This gives a flush finish at the bottom when viewed from the front
Using a 1/4" punch (or a size which suits your chosen ribbon), punch a hole in the middle of your bag near the top. Thread through a length of ribbon and tie in a double knot or a bow, whichever is your preference
And that's your bag complete!
Thanks for dropping by again and I hope you enjoyed this project.
Hope to see you again soon!
