Simple Sundays #11 Easy Folded Teabag Envelope

Hello again!

Apologies for my lateness today - I've not been very organised and today I was volunteering at a charity bridge abseil. It was at the beautiful Forth Rail Bridge near where we live.
My husband took this lovely photo after dropping me off. The sun was just waking up and coming up over the horizon:

After a 7.30am start, one of the things I was very grateful for during the morning was a lovely hot cup of tea!
I'm a bit of a tea jenny, so today's project fits the bill perfectly.

It's an easy fold, no stamp teabag envelope.
All you need for this project is a piece of Designer Series Paper measuring 6" x 6" and a piece of ribbon, so it's ideal for those who don't have a lot of supplies or when you want a quick gift for someone.
It's also ideal for fundraisers and craft fairs.

Begin by folding in half through the middle in both directions, dividing the DSP into 4 equal squares:

Then follow the photos to cut and stick the envelope together - use a very narrow double-sided tape to stick the outer edges together once cut:

Then close your envelope and hold closed with a piece of ribbon:

Quick and easy and made in no time!

Simple Sundays #10 Santa's Workshop Memories & More Cards

There's simple and there's VERY simple .....

Today's post is a VERY Simple Sunday post!

These cute cards were made using the Santa/s Workshop Cards & Envelopes and the Santa's Workshop Memories & More Card Pack.

I 'simply' used one each of the large and small greetings cards and one each of the large and small ready-made Memories & More cards, stuck them together and voila!

These Memories & More cards are so cute - there are large (to fit the large greetings cards) and small (to fit the small ones) and some have glitter on them.
In the photograph below, I think you can just see the glitter on the elves' hats.

So if you're looking for quick and easy cards to make for Christmas or a quick, non-messy, cheap activity to do with some little ones in the colder weeks and darker evenings ahead, this would be perfect! For £17.25 you'd get 20 greeting card bases (10 large and 10 small) with envelopes and 50 double-sided Memories & More cards (25 large and 25 small).
There are also some stickers included - the 'Merry Christmas' on my larger card is actually a sticker - perfect! No stamping required!

Simple Sundays #9 Matchmakers Box

Today's project is a box to fit a box of Matchmakers.
With Christmas approaching and thoughts of Christmas gifts and boxes, I thought that a box of Matchmakers is one thing that's given as a stocking-filler ....... so why not make a box to pretty them up a bit?
Equally, Matchmakers can be an all-year-round present too, so I decided to make mine using the beautiful Natures Poem suite, with the beautiful Copper Trim as my ribbon. The base is Soft Suede.
This box is a snug fit around the chocolates and the lid is a snug fit over the base, so it can be made without ribbon if preferred, because the box stays securely closed without it.

Even with a reinforced lid, this box only uses a piece of cardstock measuring 7&3/4" by 7&1/2" for the base and a piece of DSP measuring the same for the lid.
***BUT ...... in order to make the base fit inside the lid, shave 1/16" off one end on the long side of your cardstock and one end of the short side***
It's easier to say cut 1/16th of an inch off than give measurements in 16ths of inches!

For the base, score at 1 inch on all four sides, fold and burnish and cut tabs as shown in the template photographs, and join together as you would for any box base:

For the reinforced lid, score at both 3/8" AND 1" on all four sides and score and burnish well. Then remove the sections and make tabs as shown in the template photographs:

Turn your lid to the 'wrong' side and add double-sided tape to each tab.
Then turn to the 'right' side and add double-sided tape to the outer edges, leaving approximately 1mm from the edge so your tape doesn't overshoot the edge and stick where you don't want it to!

Leaving the tape on the outer edges for now, remove the backing from the tape on each tab and stick together like you would any other lid.
You'll now have a lid formed but 'extra' bits sticking up on all sides - gently remove the backing from these pieces now and stick down to the inside of your lid, giving it that extra bit of reinforcement for strength and shape.

The lid is designed to be shorter than the base on each side so as to show off the colour of the base as well as the lid.

Tie together with a co-ordinating ribbon and add a sentiment if you like - I didn't want to add a sentiment to this box as I wanted to let the ribbon 'do the talking' instead.
