Simple Sundays #5 Envelope Punch Board 'Tardis' Box

Welcome back to another Simple Sundays project!

Today I'm sharing with you a cute envelope punch board box, dimensions 2x2x2 (inches), where 'Share What You Love' meets 'Pop of Petals'.

I just love the colours in the 'Share What You Love' suite, especially Mint Macaron which I'm delighted has made a return to our colour palette in this year's colour revamp by Stampin' Up!

I decided to call this a 'tardis' box because despite its small size, it's deceptively roomy!
It actually holds 10 mini Daim bars comfortably.

I wanted to demonstrate again that you don't need lots of materials in order to make something.
The box is thick whisper white cardstock and the belly band is the reverse side of one of the sheets from the 'Share What You Love' specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).
I made the flower on the top using the 'Pop of Petals bundle (stamp set and punch).

So if you'd like to make it, here's how .....

Cut your cardstock to 6.5" x 6.5"
Get your envelope punch board and punch & score at 1-7/8" then at 4-5/8"
Turn and line up your score lines with the score guide on your EPB and punch & score on the remaining three sides (you only need those initial measurements for your first scores).

Then round the corners on all four points using the reverse punch on the top of your EPB.
Fold and burnish all your score lines - you can use your EPB scoring tool for this if you don't have a bone folder.

Hold your cardstock with the points to the top & bottom and left & right.
Cut up the vertical score lines on both sides of the top & bottom points to the first horizontal score line only. These flaps which you've created will be what joins your box together.
Trim each flap to approximately 1/2", add your chosen adhesive and join your box together.

You will now have four remaining flaps on the top which will overlap to close your box.

Cut a piece of DSP to 1-1/2" x 9" for your belly band.
Starting on the underside of your box, lining the DSP up in the middle of your box and with the end of the DSP towards the middle of the base, gently guide it round the box, pinching gently and burnishing each fold as you go.

Add some double-sided tape or other strong adhesive to the edge of your DSP and stick it to the first end underneath your box - be careful that your adhesive doesn't overlap and stick to your box, though! Also make sure you don't fold it too tightly round your box, otherwise you won't be able to slide the belly band on and off!

For the top, I stamped one of the flowers in the 'Pop of Petals' clear-mount stamp set using Mint Macaron ink on to thick whisper white cardstock - twice - and punched them out with the co-ordinating punch.
I bought these as a bundle - if you do, you save 10% on the combined cost.

I curled the petals downwards slightly and stuck them together, offset, using a dimensional.
I then added a clear faceted gem to the centre of the top flower.

I wanted a bit of height when I added the flower to the top of the belly band, so I made a 'stack' of 3 dimensionals; but I think 2 would have been enough.

And that's it!
One cute EPB 'tardis' box  to fill with goodies and surprises for a lucky recipient!

I hope you've enjoyed seeing this project and I hope you'll visit again soon.

Simple Sundays #4 DSP Gift Bag

A tad late this week, thanks to being out & about for Father's Day yesterday and not feeling too well!

However this week's project is an easy gift bag made using Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper. tied with the gorgeous Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon.

For this bag you'll need a piece of DSP which measures 11" x 4" - so you'll get 3 from one 12x12 sheet.

On the LONG side, score at 3-1/2", 5-1/4", 8-3/4" and 10-1/2" (3.5", 5.25", 8.75" and 10.5").
Keeping the DSP in this position, then make to small indents at 4-3/8" and 9-5/8" - these are markers for adding your diagonal side score lines later.

Turn your paper ANTI-CLOCKWISE to the SHORT side and score at 2-3/4" (that's 2.75").

Using a ruler (I use a stainless steel one to make sure there are no scratches or dents along the sides), score diagonal lines from the tick marks to the bottom corners of each section, just to the bottom of the vertical score lines where they meet your bottom score line.
Then fold and burnish all vertical and horizontal score lines, leaving the diagonal ones for now

Cut up the score lines in the narrow section of what will be the bottom of your bag. Remove the small rectangular piece and notch the narrow side panel slightly at each end
Then fold and burnish your diagonal scores in the OPPOSITE direction so that they fold inwards

Add your chosen (strong) adhesive to the side panel and stick the edges of your bag together

Determine which is the back of your bag - where the rough edge of the side join is and stick down the base, putting the side flaps in first (add a bit of adhesive to these if you wish, for extra strength), then the back panel, then the front panel. This gives a flush finish at the bottom when viewed from the front

Using a 1/4" punch (or a size which suits your chosen ribbon), punch a hole in the middle of your bag near the top. Thread through a length of ribbon and tie in a double knot or a bow, whichever is your preference

And that's your bag complete!

Thanks for dropping by again and I hope you enjoyed this project.

Hope to see you again soon!

Simple Sundays #3 'All The Ones'

Today's project is simple and quick 3x3 thank you cards using just 'one' of each product:

one kind & colour of cardstock
one stamp set
one clear block
one colour of ink
one type of adhesive

even one trimmer / scorer

I chose to use our new 2018-2020 in-colours: Pineapple Punch; Grapefruit Grove; Call Me Clover; Lovely Lipstick and Blueberry Bushell.

I decided to make one in each colour, as they actually turn out quite differently. I can't decide which one I like best!

So even if you only have some white card, one stamp set and one ink pad, you can still make something!

Each card measures 3x3" - cut Whisper White thick cardstock to 3x6" and score at 3". Fold and burnish to make a 3x3" card.

The stamped mat is the same cardstock, cut to 2-3/4" square. This is attached to the card front using dimensionals.

The stamps are from the new Love What You Do photopolymer stamp set from the new 2018-19 Stampin' Up! annual catalogue (have you got yours yet?).
The sentiment is tone-on-tone, that is stamped on top of the 'splodge' using the same colour.

PINEAPPLE PUNCH

GRAPEFRUIT GROVE

CALL ME CLOVER

LOVELY LIPSTICK

BLUEBERRY BUSHELL

Rounded corners are optional

I hope you enjoyed seeing this project, and I hope to see you again soon!
