Simple Sundays #6 Lidded Box for two wax melts

Hello! I'm so sorry it's been so long since we last spoke - I took a somewhat enforced break for personal reasons. However I'm delighted to be back!

Today's project is a small lidded box which holds two small wax melts. It will actually hold two Green & Black's chocolates too, but I made this to fit two Darcey's wax melts.

This box was my swap for a Stampin' Up! event for Scottish demonstrators in Edinburgh last weekend. I made 50 of them!
I used the 2010-2020 In-colours and did 10 in each colourway.

This box is in Call Me Clover - the box is cardstock and the bellyband is from the 2018-2020 In-colours 6X6" Designer Series Paper.
The flower on top is stamped in Call Me Clover ink onto Whisper White cardstock using the Pop of Petals stamp set and the co-ordinating Four-Petal punch (I bought this as a bundle - you can save 10% if you do) and the 'leaves' underneath are punched from a sheet of the DSP using the same punch.
I accented the centre of the flower with a tiny pearl.
The flower is added to the 'leaves' using a Mini Dimensional and the whole flower is then attached to the belly band using another Mini Dimensional.

The lid fits almost entirely over the base, with finger notches on the sides to ease opening; but these are hidden under the belly band to ensure a 'flush' look.

This project really doesn't use much cardstock or DSP, so you'll get several from one sheet.

Here's what you'll need:
A piece of cardstock measuring 4 & 3/16" by 3" for the base
Apiece of cardstock measuring 4 & 1/4" by 3 & 1/16" for the lid
A piece of co-ordinating DSP measuring 1 & 1/2" by 5" for the belly band

Score both the base and the lid at 7/8" on all four sides, then fold and burnish

On the long sides, cut up the short part of the vertical score lines to the first horizontal score lines and notch slightly.
Put box together by applying strong adhesive to the small flaps you've just created (I used Tear & Tape)
Do this for both the base and the lid.
Then add small finger notches to each of the long sides of the lid using a 1/2" punch

To add the belly band, close the box and gently fold the DSP around the box, starting on the underside of the base. This way, the join will be hidden. Then straighten up the folds and burnish to sharpen them.
Put around the box, having added a strip of double-sided tape to one end, and stick together on the underside of the box.

Add your decoration, sentiment or embellishment to the top centre of the belly band.

I hope you like this project and I hope you have a go.
I'd love to see what you make!
